Landed in Tokyo, got my resident card, checked into my hotel, and now I’m extremely hungry. yakitori here I come!

I’m so excited. Yoshiko secured this excellent apartment in Tokyo just in time for me to move in this weekend. It’s within walking distance from the Minowa subway station and it looks like it will be a gentle 25 minute commute to work. My suitcases are packed and I leave tomorrow to start my new life in Tokyo.

I just came back from the Japanese embassy in Houston with my work visa. Meanwhile, Yoshiko is riding a shinkansen on her way to Tokyo to find an apartment for us. By this time next week I will be in Tokyo starting my huge new adventure. It’s just a little hard to believe.

Looks like I’m moving to Tokyo soon. I just got an e-mail last night saying that my certificate of eligibility has been approved. I gave notice at work and now I’ve got a ton of things to do, like getting my visa, visiting my family up in Idaho, giving notice on my apartment, packing, apartment hunting and lots more.
I’m really happy that I will be in the same country as Yoshiko again and I’m looking forward to my new job. Not only that but I’ll get to hang out with my friends in Tokyo again. I’ve got a whole new life ahead of me in Tokyo, here’s hoping everything goes great.
