I couldn’t leave well enough alone, I had to make the options page prettier. I also added buttons to remove songs from the playlist. Enjoy!

Now with blacklists and whitelists. You can add usernames, artist names, and song titles and chrometaster will look at the content in the post and see if it should add the song to your playlist or not. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

I don’t know if you’re anything like me, but I’m sick of all the junk Tumblr is cramming onto the side of the dashboard. So I made this Chrome Extension to rein in the out of control Tumblr dashboard.
You can customize this to only hide certain sections of the dashboard. Just enter in the sections you want to remove in the options page and you’re good to go.

I’ve updated ChromeTaster to make it a little prettier, fix a small bug, and added an explanation about how to get the MP3 playback function to work. If you just want to use this to get download links, you don’t need to worry about the flash permissions. You should update from v0.1 because I accidentally killed the previous and next links on the “tagged” pages of the dashboard (sorry!).
By the way, if you want to hack on this be my guest. The ChromeTaster git repository is hosted on github. I do need help making it prettier. For future functionality I plan to use Chrome’s HTML5 player and store data using HTML5 as well. For now I’m using SoundManager because Chrome’s current HTML5 player is full on amateur hour with it’s 0.5 second interaction delay.

Since I switched over to using Google Chrome I’ve been missing my Tumtaster greasemonkey script. Luckily, I can now publish this extension which builds on my original work. Besides adding download links to every single audio post, ChromeTaster now keeps track of all the audio posts you’ve seen recently on your dashboard or on various tumblr blogs. When I first started using ChromeTaster I was like, hell yeah, the people I follow have great taste in music, this is what I’m talking about!
Just click on the little Tumblr button next to your address bar and it’ll show you all the posts that have audio tracks in them. click on the url of the post to play the song. If you right click on the Tumblr button next to your address bar you can edit options for repeat and random. Fair warning: the random is pretty crappy and you might get the same songs over and over again.
I know it ain’t pretty but it let’s me play music and keep going through my dashboard and that’s all I need. Hope you like it. I’ll slowly make it prettier and add more functionality.

Tumblr Savior now includes a whitelist, which allows you to make sure you don’t filter out any posts that you actually did want to see. I had been considering it for some time, but a request from a Tumblr Savior user finally got me to implement it. I also updated the code to fix a bug that was preventing the last item in the list from getting checked. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you.

Everybody’s favorite failed website, muxtape, seems to be trying to crawl out of the dead pool today. I took the liberty of updating Muxtaster to work with the new layout so you can save those MP3’s to your hard drive, put ‘em on your MP3 players or use them in a video mashup. Have fun kids.

Had enough bacon in your tweets? Tired of seeing tweets about Steve Jobs’ health? Don’t think that tweets about Travolta’s personal affairs are relevant to your life? Twitter Savior can fix all of that and save you from all kinds of other tweet-related afflictions. Twitter Savior is a greasemonkey script that filters out tweets containing keywords that you set. Just visit http://twitter-savior.bjornstar.com/ and start living the easy life.
*Twitter Savior is a GreaseMonkey script and only runs on browsers that support GreaseMonkey (like FireFox). Also it doesn’t work on SMS messages, instant messages, RSS, e-mail or anything else. Only in your browser.

If you don’t have Greasemonkey installed, you can get it here. You’ll need to restart your browser after it installs.
Go to weheartit-savior.bjornstar.com and click on the Install This Script button in the top right corner of the page. You’ll get a notice in the bottom right corner of your browser saying it was successfully installed.
Right click on the Greasemonkey icon in the bottom right corner or your browser. Then click on Manage User Scripts…
A box will pop up, select Weheartit Savior in the left hand column then at the bottom click the Edit button.
If this is your first time doing this it will ask you for a text editor. Try using notepad which is usually located here: ‘c:\windows\system32\notepad.exe’ If you want to get fancy try using Notepad2.
At this point the script will open up in your text editor and you’re ready to add usernames to the filter. I hope you still remember which usernames you were going to add.
Weheartit Savior defaults to the users that I don’t want to see, you’ll probably want to change all of those. They need to be lower case, in single quotes and comma separated (no comma at the end).
Once you are done editing them just save the file and refresh weheartit. For best results you should be on a page that has something on your filtered username list.

I know what you’re thinking, there’s been a lot of crap on weheartit lately and it’s crap that you’d rather not see. Well, stop putting up with that crap and do something about it with Weheartit Savior. You can add words to the ban list and it will hide any image that has those words in its title, description, tags, or has been hearted by a person with that word in their name. That’s right, Weheartit Savior has saved the day.
*Weheartit Savior is a GreaseMonkey script and only runs on firefox with greasemonkey installed, if you’re using Internet Explorer or Google Chrome or Safari: tough luck, enjoy those pics of people doing naughty things.
