Quick update for the Greasemonkey version of Tumblr Savior, I added tagged pages to the list of pages that it will check. I also made it so that it doesn’t care about upper and lower case in your blacklist and whitelist as I know that has caused confusion in the past.

Why can’t I sort my dash by file type?? For example - I would love to see just the music postings of the people I follow on tumblr so that I can grab some new music for my ipod. Why isn’t this possible???
When I first joined Tumblr I think you could do that. I’m not sure why they changed it.
It still works, but the pagination is broken and endless scrolling doesn’t function properly. This is how I get music - http://www.tumblr.com/show/audio/by/everyone
My Chrome extension, Tumtaster, fixes the pagination so you can use it, but I’m to lazy to fix it for endless scrolling. Enjoy.

I know there’s only a few people using this, but I thought I’d mention it anyway. I’ve updated Hey Tumblr to work with the new dashboard. This new version simply removes items based on classname instead of looking at dashboard_nav_items. It’s not very clean, but it gets the job done. Enjoy your radar-free dashboard!

I made some quick fixes to the style used in the notifications to fit in with the new dashboard. It’s just a bandaid for now, I’ll have to spend a little more time making it really blend in. I am aware of a problem with the layout of audio posts when they’ve been unhidden. Look for another update soonish. Greasemonkey users, blame Firefox for making their extension system ridiculously cumbersome. Do yourself a favor and download Chrome while you wait for me to update the Greasemonkey version.

By request, I’ve added an option to hide follower count in this latest update to Tumblr Savior. I’m also officially releasing v0.3.4 for Chrome, Opera and Safari. I am now hosting all three versions myself as well as submitting them to the various extension galleries.
I might update these links later if the folks at Safari or Opera are kind enough to approve of my humble extension. Otherwise, click away dear friends and be saved today.

This time for both Chrome and Opera. I fixed an issue with Endless Scrolling where promoted tags weren’t being hidden. I didn’t release earlier for Opera because the publishing process for Opera requires a human being to approve my extension. It doesn’t encourage me to continue developing for Opera, but I suppose I’ll keep at it for now. I’d rather spend time developing than filling out forms for someone to glance over and rubber stamp. Software doesn’t mind doing that, but I do.

Fixed bug with endless scrolling and now Tumblr Savior will interactively block and unblock posts. Highlight a word, right click and add it to your blacklist, you get immediate results. Take a word off your blacklist or add a word to your whitelist, hit save and Tumblr Savior will immediately unblock posts. No more refreshing.

Thanks to Freevo’s outstanding work I’ve been able to add a few new features to Tumblr Savior for Chrome. There’s a little more work to do, but I thought I’d get these changes out there first for you all to enjoy.
You can now highlight a word and right click to add it to your blacklist. This saves you the trouble of opening up the options page which Google has done it’s best to hide from you. Currently you must reload or change pages to see it take effect. I’m working on a method to dynamically update your lists, but that’s for the next release.
Another new addition is an option to show the blocked word(s) in the post. You can turn this off if you don’t want to see those words.
And the last change is the style of the notification as well as showing the author of the post that you were saved from.

Did you see the new promoted tags? Did you think they were annoying? Tumblr Savior now has an option to turn them back into regular tags. Just hit up the options and check the box.
In related news I’m working on a Safari version and cleaning up my code so that I don’t have a different copy for each browser. In the future, Chrome, Opera, and Safari will all be updated simultaneously. Firefox is still a pain in the ass to create extensions for, not sure what I’m gonna do about that at the moment though.

By special request I have ported Tumblr Savior to Opera 11. All the same goodies that are in the Chrome version are now available on the official Opera extension. For all you Opera 11 users out there, hop on this and let me know how it works for you. Enjoy!

I just put out a new version of Tumblr Savior. New in this version is the option to block posts based on whole words instead of just partial matches. With this option you can use * as a wildcard (ie. ip* will block ipad and iphone, but not flip or mudkips). This new option is not enabled by default so you’re going to have to go into options and turn it on.
The other new option is to disable Google Analytics tracking on links on your dashboard. I put this in because the like buttons are broken if Google Analytics fails to load for some reason (yay hosts file). This was driving me crazy for a while so I’m glad I got a chance to fix it in this release.
Give it a try folks and if you run into problems let me know.
