Yet another commercial use of AR, this time a mini-game promoting some movie. It’s pretty cool the way they use the predetermined size and shape of the box to create a better sense of 3D.

Facial recognition is a much needed addition to augmented reality. We don’t need strange blocky shapes to form the building blocks of AR, our faces are the strange shapes.

I’m afraid that Augmented Reality is going to remain the domain of chintzy commercial gimmicks rather than truly fun stuff.
